What are the acronyms in the Repair Estimator?

List of Units of Measure / Acronyms from the Repair Estimator:

  • ls - Lump Sum - Used for lump sum bids or allowances (Ex: $5000 for Electrical work)

  • ea - Each - Used for each itemized item (Ex: Two vanity cabinets, for $400 'each')

  • lf - Lineal Foot - Used to measure lineal dimensions (Ex: Lineal feet of trim)

  • sf - Square Foot - Used to measure area (Ex: Building Area, Flooring Quantities, etc.)

  • sy - Square Yard (Ex: Carpet is generally measured in SY)

  • cy - Cubic Yard - Used to measure volume (Ex: Cubic yard of concrete)

  • sq - Squares - A 10 x 10 area or a 100 square feet is generally referred to as a 'square' (Ex: Squares of roofing)

  • hrs - # of Hours or Man Hours (Ex: 40 hrs of demolition work)

  • week - # of Weeks - (Ex: 4 weeks of project management)

  • month - # of Months - (Ex: 2 months of project management)

  • sheet - # of Sheets - Used to count # of sheets (Ex: Sheets of drywall or sheets of sheathing)

  • gallon - gallons - Used to measure liquid volume (Ex: Gallons of paint)
