Can I add a Task that isn't associated with a specific Project?

Not currently. All tasks are project-based. As a workaround, create a General Business project to hold to-dos not tied to a specific property.

No. All tasks are currently project-based, so to create a new task you need to create it within a specific project's Task Manager.

Workaround for general business tasks

Create a project specifically for general business tasks. From within that "General Business" project you can track the business to-dos that are not tied to a particular property.
